Did you know? Even though DOUBLE DARE ended up at Nickelodeon Studios in Orlando, Florida... the first episodes were taped at WHYY's Forum Theater, right here in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania!
This meant that Marc, Robin, Harvey, and the gang were able to make legendary TV... without the network micromanaging we see today.
Now, 40 years later, we're inviting YOU to be wined and dined - with
slime-themed specialty drinks available from City
Winery! - as we dish out the "Inside Slop" on how TV's messiest game show was made!
The cast and crew from DOUBLE DARE will take the stage one last time, to divulge everything from the secret slime recipe to tales of behind-the-scenes shenanigans!
On Your Marc, Get Set, GO! Host Marc Summers (and other surprise guests) will randomly pull volunteers from the audience to compete in physical challenges
just like the ones you
always wanted to play on TV! There might even be some "fabulous prizes"* in store...
But be careful! There's a chance things could
get a little messy... and we wouldn't want that to happen, now, would we?
True Gakheads will appreciate our VIP EXPERIENCE,
which includes premium tickets in the SPLAT ZONE
(Stage Premier Seating)...
Plus an EXCLUSIVE PRESHOW EVENT,
where you can:
• Meet the stars of the show on the City
Winery stage!
•
Visit our interactive display of rare props & memorabilia!
•
Request your favorite throwback tracks from our live DJ!
• Pick up
your VIP exclusive, limited-edition tote bag!
Stuffed with a magazine-size program & other
surprises!
PLEASE NOTE:
Doors to the VIP preshow soiree will open at 4:30pm
at City Winery Concert Hall.
We kindly ask all guests to arrive as early as possible to avoid meet & greet bottlenecking.
City Winery's box office will provide further admission details to Stage Premier ticketholders.
While we won't have trivia or an obstacle course, we have selected a few of your favorite physical challenges to play throughout the evening! The rest of the show will feature hilarious stories from the set, and answers to your questions!
Marc & friends will periodically search the audience for people volunteering to come on stage; no prior signup is required. Everyone in the audience has an equal chance of being selected; regardless of ticket tier or VIP status. The more enthusiastic you are, the better! We only ask that you stay at your seat while volunteering; do not crowd the aisles, or try to touch our cast or crew members. We cannot select anyone who appears to be visibly intoxicated, or otherwise unable to safely participate in the show. Please see the section on Dress Code below if you are thinking of being part of the show!
Physical challenge participants may be awarded "prizes" reminiscent of those given away on DOUBLE DARE. These are essentially gag gifts that hold no real value, so please don't come hoping to win anything big. We're just here to have fun!
A QR code will be posted throughout the venue before the show, for guests to submit questions for the cast & crew. Our producers will then choose the best questions to be answered live on stage!
Ticketholders may also email us
by October 1 for a link to submit your question in advance.
At this time, the main program is expected to run approximately 90-120 minutes, with no plans for an intermission. This is subject to change, although likely not by much.
Select areas of City Winery Philadelphia will open to the public as early as 10am!
Stage Premier ticketholders & VIP guests will be admitted into the Concert
Venue beginning at 4:30pm for an exclusive meet & greet soiree.
All other ticketholders are welcome to join us in the Concert Venue when doors open at around 6pm.
"Marc Summers & Friends" showtime is planned for 7:30!
21+ ... It's at a winery!
Very casual! If you're seated in VIP, or plan on volunteering to take the physical challenge, we recommend wearing clothes that you don't mind getting messy. For onstage participants, we strongly recommend comfortable, closed-toed shoes! Please note that we can't provide coverings or replacement wardrobe, and while you're welcome to bring a change of clothes, changing space will be limited.
Photos & video are welcome throughout the VIP preshow event! During the main performance, we'll take care of the recording so you don't have to. You can take a few photos or short videos of the stage show with your phone, as long as the flash is off and you're not obstructing the view of people around you. Professional camera equipment is not permitted.
Our preshow VIP guests will be provided with a program that includes dedicated space for autographs, which you can request at the selfie / meet & greet station. In the interest of time and safety, we politely ask that guests please not bring items from home to be autographed.
For your safety and ours, and due to time & space limits, only cast &
crew will be admitted backstage, and we aren't able to accommodate any post-show meet & greets.
Stage Premier ticketholders and VIP guests should follow City Winery's attendance
guidance for the preshow meet & greet event.
